KRIS COMMONS could be on his way out of Celtic Park after being aggrieved at his omission from the starting XI against Maribor, according to reports.

The SPFL top goalscorer from 2013/14 and reigning Player of the Year started from the bench in the crucial Champions League tie, which Celtic lost 0-1.

Even though Commons was introduced at half-time, it is understood he will now be seeking an explanation from new manager Ronny Deila.

Commons has one year left on his deal and if he doesn’t receive assurances from his manager then a move to the English Premier League with either West Brom or Leicester City could be on the cards.

Deila was asked whether the former Scottish international had a future at the club after Tuesday’s match.

“Kris has played almost every game as long as I have been at Celtic, so of course,” Deila responded.

If Commons goes he may not be the only high profile departure from Celtic Park this transfer window.

Centre back Virgil van Dijk remained non-committal on his future, saying “we’ll see what happens” when asked about interest from England and Spain.
