Some see it as a poor call given the recent form of Ismaila Soro, who displaced the long-serving captain for the wins over Lille and Kilmarnock, but others are convinced that Brown is the right man to lead the club to a quadruple treble.

Paddy B (@PaddyB1988): How to u drop our best player of the past 2 games to play arguably our worst player of the season .. asking for the sack now

Logibhoy1888 (@Logibhoy18881): Brown needed a rest, he got one. He will run the show today. Soro been great but ffs some of the comments im seeing about one of our greatest captains is shocking!

Devils Advocate (@Devi1sAdv0cate): No way Soro should be dropped. So much for "no sentimentality", more hot air. Brown simply shouldn't be starting, hes offered nothing this season. My bigger concern is Brown retains his position if we win. Do that and more dropped points likely to be just around the corner.

aidan (@AIDAN0609): Cant wait for brown to be one of the best on the pitch today and show the so called celtic fans whos boss

John Carey (@Johnny_Carey): Big gamble from Neil Lennon today. Basically saying Scott Brown is more important than the Celtic team because he’s in there on sentiment, not on merit.

STK77 (@STK771): I knew Lennon would bottle it today. What message does that send to players like Soro? Come in and do well but the next big game and your benched. Not afraid to play Duffy though.Every game he manages us now is a game too many.

Reckoner (@Reckoner1888): Lennon has learned nothing. Soro is clearly the in form player, whereas Brown has toiled badly all season. The back line needs protection and the latter no longer has the legs or reaction speed to do it. This is a major blind spot which could come back to hurt us. #BestXI

Felix Bhoy (@FelixFitzsimmo1): Pretty happy with that.. Lennon was always going to start brown, hopefully he turns up today. Over the moon to see hazard and turnbull start
