The home side conceded a 2-0 lead on Saturday and lost 3-2 to St Johnstone which led to Alex Dyer’s departure from the dugout.

Cetic also went down at the weekend, losing 2-1 at home to St Mirren – so both teams are on the rebound and looking for a return to winning ways.

Team news

Kilmarnock can call upon new loan signing Brandon Pierrick and Zach Medley after clinching deals on deadline day. Captain Gary Dicker, who has assumed first-team coaching duties with James Fowler and Andy Millen, could also return from injury.

Stuart Findlay, Kirk Broadfoot and Greg Kiltie remain out.

Long-term injury victims Christopher Jullien and James Forrest remain on the sidelines for Celtic but new defender Jonjoe Kenny could feature for Neil Lennon’s side.

Previous meetings

Celtic’s last trip to Rugby Park ended in a 1-1 draw on matchday two of the 2020-21 season. Ryan Christie found the net early on before Chris Burke levelled from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark.
