Members of the fans group turned up at Lennoxtown on Friday morning with a banner which simply read: “Lennon Out”. Celtic’s players were taking part in a training session at the time.

A picture of the protest was uploaded to the North Curve Twitter account along with a statement which criticised the board and the Northern Irishman for failing to adhere to promises made to the support earlier this season.

The statement read: “For several months many Celtic fans have been calling for a managerial change. These calls have grown louder by the week as the club lurches from one crisis to another. We have so far been ignored.

“In October, Neil Lennon stated that should things deteriorate he would hold his hands up and walk away. In December, the Celtic board announced that it would review the progress of the management team in the new year. Despite no progress, neither party has been true to their word.

“Not making a managerial change last year cost the club any chance of a league title. Continuing to stick with Lennon now only delays the substantial rebuild required throughout the club and further jeopardises his diminishing Celtic legacy.

“Today we unveiled a banner at Lennoxtown during the Celtic training session which read 'Lennon Out'. He should be removed from his post immediately.”

Celtic face Motherwell at Fir Park tomorrow. The reigning champions sit 23 points behind rivals Rangers in the the title race with two games in hand.
