Glasgow council slam Celtic fans group over 'narrow-minded bigotry'

Glasgow council have accused the Green Brigade of ‘narrow-minded bigotry’ after an online campaign included graffiti which read ‘F**k H*ns’.

The Celtic supporters group put up a series of images across the city as they looked to rally fans before this weekend’s clash between Celtic and Rangers at Parkhead.

This mostly included posters of famous derby incidents from through the years that went in Celtic’s favour, such as Chris Sutton celebrating and Jozo Simunovic's crunching tackle on Kenny Miller.

However, council chiefs say an ‘inexcusable’ line was crossed with the use of sectarian language as they stated the intention to remove the graffiti as soon as possible.

A spokesperson told the Scottish Sun: "Sectarian graffiti like this is inexcusable and we should all be ashamed of those in our city who insist on using sport as a vehicle for their own narrow-minded bigotry. Whenever it is drawn to our attention, we aim to remove any sectarian graffiti within 48hours.”
