Benjamin Tatar has the eye-catching stats for the hosts, with six goals in eight games so far this season. The 26-year-old Bosnian striker has scored three braces amongst his haul including both in the Champion’s League win over Connah’s Quay Nomads. He found the net against Scott Bain when the sides met at Celtic Park last season.

Veteran Mersudin Ahmetović regualrly hits double figures and has already pitched in with three this term.

Celtic must also be wary of former West Ham youth player Mathias Fanimo – rated as one of the quickest players in the world – who signed for Sarajevo in the summer from Mladost Doboj Kakanj after heading to Slovakia three years ago then on to Bosnia following spells at Margate and Bishop’s Stortford .

Opposition Form

Sarajevo have played eight league games this season so far and sit top of their Premijer Liga table with 20 points, and have won their last five games – just like Neil Lennon’s side.

They progressed to this play-off round with a 2-1 win over FK Buducnost Podgorica of Montenegro last week having, like Celtic, dropped into the Europa League with defeat in their second Champions League qualifier – 2-1 to Dinamo Brest of Belarus their only loss this season.

Previous Meetings

The sides met just over a year ago in the first of last season’s Champion’s League qualifiers for season 2019-20. Celtic prevailed 5-2 on aggregate, first winning 3-1 in the Bilino Polje Stadium with goals from Mikey Johnston, Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair before Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor finished the job in the return leg.
