The 32-year-old returned to football earlier this year to help League 2 side East Fife reach the play-offs.

However, budget cuts at Bayview meant that he was not offered a new deal and now Riordan is on the lookout for a club.

Riordan said: “I played over ten games for East Fife and would like to think I contributed positively to them reaching the play-offs.

“Hopefully I can get the chance to get my boots on soon and show a club what I can do.”

Riordan started his career at Hibs before moving to Celtic in 2006 for two years.

He returned to Hibs for three seasons then moved to Chinese side Shaanxi Chanba but he failed to settle.

Stops at St Johnstone and Bristol Rovers were followed by a brief appearance at Alloa Athletic and a trial period with Brechin City at the start of last season.

Riordan was then out of the game until February when he joined East Fife.
