Famed for its often fearsome atmosphere, an Old Firm fixture like no other is set to play out in front of an empty Parkhead this Saturday.

With pubs closed and no fans allowed in the stadium, supporters of the Glasgow rivals will be confined to their living rooms to watch the fixture between the league’s current top two sides.

The match will be the first time the two sides have met this season and the first time they’ve locked horns since the league was suspended in March.

A win for either side would provide them an early edge in this season’s title race – as things stand Rangers lead the league by a point, though Celtic have a game in hand.

Despite the absence of fans, players will need no reminding of the importance of the fixture with Celtic chasing ten league titles in a row and Rangers eyeing their first league title since 2011.

What time is kick-off?

The Old Firm derby takes place on Saturday, October 17 at Parkhead with the game kicking off at 12.30pm.

Where can I watch the game?

Sky Sports hold broadcasting rights for the fixture with coverage set getting underway at 11.30am.

The game will be shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football.

Can I stream the match without a Sky subscription?

Yes. Sky have a partnership with NowTV which allows fans to tune into fixtures even if they don’t have a Sky subscription.

Fans can purchase a one-off day pass for £9.99 or fork out for a month pass for £33.99.

Both passes provide unlimited access to Sky’s 11 sports channels.

Can I watch the game at the pub?

Under current rules in Scotland, licensed premises in a number of regions must close until October 25, while unlicensed hospitality businesses must only open between 6am and at 6pm each day.

Business that remain open must not sell or permit the consumption of alcohol on their premises.

Supporters have also been urged not to travel south of the English-Scottish border to Cumbria where restrictions on hospitality are less strict.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster warned of the significant potential health risks if supporters gather in groups at home or travel south of the border to watch the weekend match.

Doncaster said: “Fans should also be aware that travelling from the Central Belt health board areas covered by current additional measures – Great Glasgow & Clyde, Lanarkshire, Forth Valley, Lothian and Ayrshire & Arran – to other areas in Scotland to watch games in licensed premises is a clear breach of the guidelines."
