Celtic v Rangers date, kick-off time and TV details confirmed

Four Premiership matches announced for Sky Sports coverage

Celtic and Rangers have not met since December 29 last year.

The first Celtic v Rangers game of the season has been confirmed for Saturday 17 October and will kick off at 12.30pm.

The details were confirmed as the SPFL announced the latest batch of fixtures to be screened live by Sky Sports.

The Celtic v Rangers game was scheduled as late in the season as possible in the hope of fans being allowed to attend.

It remains to be seen how many – if any – supporters will be allowed in but First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said last week that she hoped fans could return to Scottish football games by September.

Before that, some test events will be held with small numbers of spectators. This Sunday’s game between Celtic and Motherwell is expected to be one of the first test games.

Sky Sports will also show live coverage of Hibs’ Premiership game against Rangers, which has been pushed back a day to Sunday September 20, with a noon kick-off.

Motherwell v Rangers will be screened live by the satellite broadcaster on Sunday September 27, again kicking off at noon.

St Johnstone v Celtic on Friday October 2 will also be shown live by Sky (kick-off 7.45).
