Celtic’s patience in the transfer window appears to have paid dividends this summer, with several new arrivals hitting the ground running under veteran boss Martin O’Neill.
The 74-year-old took his time when strengthening his squad this summer, but looks to have pulled off a masterstroke with striking duo Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran already establishing themselves as big players for the champions this season. Fellow new additions Mika Baur and Haissem Hassan also look like impressive captures.
However, as it so often is during the transfer window, those new additions mean the end of the road for some members of the Celtic squad. The Hoops have already waved goodbye to fan favourite Daizen Maeda, and several others could follow him out of the Parkhead exit door before the deadline. But which players will depart for pastures new before September 3?
Here, The Scotsman take a look at the 8 players who could leave Celtic ahead of the deadline day next week.

7. Benjamin Nygren
Last season's player of the year is rumoured to have suitors in the English Premier League after his outstanding debut season at Parkhead. It feels increasingly likely he'll remain in Glasgow beyond the window, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a big late bid could change that. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

8. Alistair Johnston
Heavily linked with a move to Everton earlier this summer, the English Premier League club could not agree a fee with Celtic for the Canadian right-back, before he was ruled out until October with yet another hamstring injury. It feels hugely unlikely he'll depart before deadline day due to this, but as is the nature of the transfer window, it cannot be completely discounted. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
