From representing the U16s through to the U21s, he has struck 42 goals in 47 games.

He is yet to partner Edouard in attack in his three appearances for the U21 side. In two he has replaced Edouard, while in the other fixture it was the Celtic striker who was brought on in place of him.

Gouiri, who has started two games for Lyon’s first team, has previously been linked with Real Madrid.

A player who is set to leave Celtic Park is Daniel Arzani.

The Australian is coming to the end of a frustrating two-year loan from Manchester City.

He suffered a cruciate ligament injury on his debut for Celtic and has since gone on to make just one further appearance.

Speaking to Australian outlet The World Game, Arzani expressed his desire to move somewhere he can get game time, pinpointing the Netherlands as a possible destination.

“Holland comes up because it’s a selling league and they develop a lot of really good talent,” he said. “But they’re not the only league to have done that.

“It’s been a really tough last two seasons for me. Celtic ’s been tough, there are a lot of good people there and it’s a good club, but the most important thing is game time and I wasn’t getting that.

“I was getting frustrated with injuries and things like that and the most important thing now is to look forward and go somewhere I think I’ll get game time.”
