Celtic scouts 'to watch highly-rated star' during today's Scottish Cup semi-final

Celtic scouts will be in attendance at Hampden on Sunday afternoon to watch St Johnstone midfielder Ali McCann, it has been reported.

The Sunday Post say the Parkhead side will have a close look at the 21-year-old before deciding whether to make a move for the highly-rated prospect in the summer transfer window.

McCann has been excellent since establishing himself in the McDiarmid Park first team at the beginning of last season and is already viewed as one of their most important players.

Though he has just two goals and two assists this campaign, he’s an influential player out of possession. The Northern Irish international is among the leaders in this season’s Scottish Premiership in defensive duels and ball recoveries.

With Scott Brown leaving for Aberdeen when this season ends, the Hoops are on the look for another tenacious central midfielder as they look to rebound from a disastrous 2020/21 season.
