Celtic review dubbed 'a plethora of incoherent words' as supporters rail against chairman's statement
Chairman Ian Bankier addressed the fans in a lengthy statement which ultimately said the board weren’t going to make any “hasty” decisions about the managerial position.
This did not go over well on social media. Here’s how the fans responded:
@daviddocherty: “’We will not make hasty decisions that we might regret...’ Kept the manager. Dubai farce. Dropped 12 points in January. League gone. Lennon’s embarrassing press conferences. Club disconnected from supporters. But it could’ve been worse!”
@RyTweetsThings: “How can you say so much without saying anything at all? This statement is less than useless.”
@DeeTheTim: “Prime example of saying everything and absolutely nothing at the same time. Just a plethora of incoherent words. Embarrassing.”
@Williemax1989: “Hasty!? Like giving him the job in the showers? We have qualifiers in July for champions league, would it be deemed hasty to get a management team in early to prepare for this, get rid of dead wood in Jan and allow a new manager to bed in players and a system?”
@MrCheshington: "Hasty decisions" you've taken 2 months so far deliberating on a decision most fans could see was needed at least 4 months ago! In what world do our club operate??”
@0ccult0: “Fans: We're worried about the lack of communication. Chairman: Here's a 600 word statement with no new information.”
@cfitz67: “In short, we know its been s****, we have no idea how to fix it, but in the meantime we'll just blame Covid. An absolute shambles!”
