The shocking images, which have been widely shared on Twitter, have sparked outrage among the Celtic support online with many condemning the sickening message.

Disgruntled Hoops fans have displayed several banners outside a fenced-off Parkhead in recent days as they protest against Neil Lennon and club directors following a dismal run of just two wins in 12 matches.

Arrests were made after the Celtic team bus was attacked following a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone on Sunday that has left the defending champions trailing 13 points behind Rangers in their pursuit of a record-setting 10th consecutive title.

The Celtic board released a statement backing the under-fire Lennon on Monday evening, leading to calls for majority shareholder Dermot Desmond and chief executive Peter Lawwell to stand down, with a number of ‘Sack the Board’ banners also making an appearance.
