Celtic on the brink of Stefan Scepovic signing

CELTIC will secure the transfer of Stefan Scepovic from Sporting Gijon for a £2.2 million fee, subject to a medical.

The club’s interest in the striker has been known for the past week but the Glasgow giants faced stiff competition from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven for his signature.

Having agreed terms with the player and his club, Celtic are now in the process of putting the Serbian through a medical at Celtic Park.

The 24-year old has agreed a four-year deal with the club.

Celtic already have a strong attacking corps with Teemu Pukki, Leigh Griffiths and Anthony Stokes all capable of playing up front.

Manager Ronny Deila hopes the capture of Scepovic with provide a different, more physically robust option within his squad.
