Celtic: Neil Lennon confirms Kris Commons interest

BOLTON manager Neil Lennon has confirmed speculation that the English Championship side are keen to bring Celtic midfielder Kris Commons to the club.

Commons, who is unhappy at the offer of a one-year deal to stay at Celtic Park, is known to be keeping his options open - and the opportunity to reunite with former boss Lennon is likely to appeal.

Discussing Commons, whose contract at Celtic expires in the summer, Lennon told the BBC: “Is there interest from us? I know Kris very well but whether we can get a deal done there is another thing.”

“I think there is other interest in Kris. It wouldn’t surprise me because of the quality of player that he is, but I know Celtic will do all they can to keep him there as well.”

Attempts to advance contract talks with Commons, who won the PFA Scotland player of the year award last season, appear to be stalling - a situation that may play into Bolton’s hands.
