The Norwegians had been heavily fancied to dispose of Serbia in last week’s Euro 2020 play-off semi-final and set up a date with Scotland, but Lars Lagerback’s men lost 2-1 after extra-time in a pulsating match to miss out on a chance to host the Scots next month.

However, they bounced back with a 4-0 Nations League hammering of Romania in Oslo, with Erling Braut Haaland scoring a hat-trick.

The Celtic duo started the match, with Ajer winning his 18th cap in the centre of defence, while Elyounoussi (27 caps) starring behind Haaland in attack. The Southampton loanee came off with five minutes to, with the victory secure.

The Norwegians have one final match in this international break when they host Northern Ireland in Oslo on Wednesday night.
