The squad was tested after arriving back in Glasgow on Friday and has resulted in an unnamed player returning a positive test.

Celtic’s decision to travel to the warm-weather camp in the wake of last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Rangers has been criticised by supporters and the Scottish Government with First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, calling on the SFA to investigate and questioning whether social distancing measures were being followed.

The club has confirmed that the postive case relates to just one player with no other squad members affected.

A club statement read: “Celtic today confirmed that one player has recorded a positive test for covid-19. Clearly the player will receive all our care and full support.

“All other members of our squad, management team and backroom squad are negative.”

Celtic are due to host Hibs in a Scottish Premiership fixture at Celtic Park on Monday evening.
