Celtic bound to hand somebody "a right good going over" says Neil Lennon after chances go begging in 2-0 win over Ross County; Scott Brown and Shane Duffy in line to return against Hamilton Accies on Boxing Day

Neil Lennon believes it is only a matter of time before a team suffers against Celtic after his side proved wasteful with a number of chances in last night’s 2-0 win over Ross County.

In recent weeks the champions have been the ones under the cosh as they struggled on both domestic and European fronts. But they are returning to form under Lennon after securing back-to-back victories in the league for the first time since the start of October. These wins bookended Sunday’s Scottish Cup final triumph over Hearts.

Celtic have scored five goals twice already in the league this season – but the last time was back in September in a 5-0 win over last night’s opponents in Dingwall. They play Hamilton Accies, who they beat 5-1 on the opening day of the league season, on Boxing Day.

"If we keep playing like that we're going to give somebody a right good going over,” said Lennon. "It was a clean sheet and we didn't look in any trouble.”

The manager added that it was “another step in the right direction”. He said: "We got a lift from the weekend win and that pressure and anxiety has gone now.

We are looking forward to the league games now. It's good to get a win to start the Christmas period.

"There is a feelgood factor,” he added. “We just want to keep the squad bubbling over now.” Lennon also revealed that skipper Scott Brown and defender Shane Duffy, who both missed last night’s game through injury, “should” be available to return against Accies.
