The 6ft 3in Ghanaian goalie has knocked back a number of offers from Stromsgodset chiefs amid rumours he could follow his former manager to Glasgow.

Larsen Kwarasey was brought to Godset from Tippeligaen rivals Valerenga in 2010, and Deila could sign the 26-year-old for a second time.

Named in Norway’s team of the year after captaining Godset to their first league title in over 40 years, Larsen Kwarasey - the Oslo-born son of a Norwegian mother and Ghanaian father - is also set to star at the World Cup.

A source in Ghana said: “Deila showed faith in Kwarasey by making him captain. They were very comfortable working together in Norway, so Kwarasey could follow his manager to Scotland.”

Fraser Forster has been linked with a move to the English Premier League following the World Cup, and ex-Scotland international goalkeeper Craig Gordon has reportedly passed a medical with Celtic.

But Deila is yet to sign off on the deal, but could bring in Kwarasey Larsen after the Black Stars’ participation in Brazil.
