Celtic ace Odsonne Edouard names out of contract PSG star as 'most exciting' French talent

The striker is well placed to provide insight into talented French youngsters

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard may have inadvertently handed Neil Lennon and his recruitment team a useful transfer tip this summer.

The French ace was taking part in an Instagram Q&A on the club’s official account when he was asked who the most exciting young French talent is by one fan.

Having progressed through the vaunted Paris Saint-Germain youth system and turned out for France at U17, U18, U19 and U21 level, Edouard is well placed to answer such a question.

His answer was PSG attacker Adil Aouchiche.

The 17-year-old made his debut for the French giants at the start of the season and featured three times in total before football was postponed.

A regular for France’s U18 side, Aouchiche, who can play in a variety of roles, is out of contract at the end of June.

According to Get French Football News, he is “considered as one of the biggest prospects in Europe” and became the club’s second youngest scorer when he netted in a Coupe de France win in January.

His contract situation has attracted a number of Ligue 1 clubs but both he and PSG are keen to strike a deal.

It is understood he wants to know what sort of game time he will enjoy before committing to a deal.

Celtic have proven adept at using the French market, recruiting Edouard from PSG after a positive loan spell as well as Christopher Jullien in the summer.

They have also brought in French stars Olivier Ntcham and Moussa Dembele from England and had Timothy Weah on a short-term loan.
