The boss made two changes to the side which saw off Ross County in midweek, a few days after completing the quadruple treble.

Matt Casey: “Boring team. The lack of quality in the team is staring us in the face.”

@chibchenko: “Jullien no there better just be cause of the plastic pitch and no cause he's still scrannin turkey.”

@coupon_eddie: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: resorting to Bitton at centre half shouldn’t be happening. He’s an ineffective midfielder who is there because he’s tall. He’s powderpuff.”

@Wulliebhoy71: “All I want for Christmas is central defenders.

@BM67__: “We don’t need players like Soro the now. We need real homegrown fans like Brown and Rogic. Until then we won’t get results.”

HellMonkey88: “Is it bad I would rather someone else in than Edouard right now?

Others were more positive in the selection for the 3pm kick-off on Sky.

Nick James Bartlett: “Great to see two up front again, and Bitton getting a start.”

Alex Cord: “Surprised to see Christie keep his place after being anonymous on Wednesday. Glad to see Griff there.”

Hamilton’s injury and covid issues were not lost on some either.

@JChambers1984: “Hamilton are playing a reserve team today so we don’t win this it’s an embarrassment.”

Barry Gunn: “Depleted Hamilton needs to be convincing.”
