Aberdeen signed Vicente Besuijen from NEC in January and he has the game’s best moment, a cute flick over Carl Starfelt to send him clear. However, his run into the box comes to nothing.

RANGERS TAKE THE LEAD

Rangers are 1-0 up at Ibrox against Hibs thanks to a James Tavernier penalty on five minutes.

Celtic take the lead on 17 minutes. Matt O’Riley sends in a decent cross that ought to have been dealt with by either Aberdeen’s defenders or Gary Woods in goal. However, they all leave it and JOTA has a simple tap-in at the back post. Aberdeen 0-1 Celtic.

Celtic go 2-0 ahead on 20 minutes. MATT O’RILEY efforts goes past Woods and Aberdeen are in real trouble. The home fans are already disgruntled, with some calling for Stephen Glass’ head.

Celtic’s goal had an element of fortune about it, with O’Riley’s strike - his first for the club - taking a big deflection off David Bates on its way in to deceive Woods.

Aberdeen are missing the calmness of their usual goalkeeper Joe Lewis, with the defence looking nervy. Celtic look threatening every time they get into the final third. Reo Hatate, however, is one foul away from a yellow card after a couple of poor challenges.
