The Uruguayan international had already been charged by Police Scotland for the incident which happened during Copenhagen’s celebrations of their second goal in the 3-1 victory over Celtic which eliminated the Scottish champions from the Europa League at the last 32 stage. A report was sent to the procurator fiscal.

Santos will now miss the second leg of Copenhagen’s last 16 tie against Turkish side Basaksehir whenever the tournament is able to resume after the coronavirus pandemic, along with the Danish club’s subsequent two games in European competition.
