Celtic centre-back Dedryck Boyata turns down move - reports

Dedryck Boyata has turned down the chance to join Sevilla in order to secure a move to Turkey, according to reports.

The La Liga side had been keen on signing the 27-year-old, who is at odds with the Celtic hierarchy after a proposed move to the English Premier League failed to materialise.

Sevilla, who have been interested all summer, thought they were leading the chase for the Belgian international, though it’s now being reported by Turkish publication Fanatik that Boyata wishes to go elsewhere.

He is said to have opened talks with both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray as his time in Glasgow looks to be drawing to a close.

The centre-back has yet to feature for Celtic this summer after claiming to be injured following his return from the World Cup, despite manager Brendan Rodgers insisting he’s fit.

His agent Jacques Lichtenstein insisted he would never again pull on the green and white hoops earlier this month after “promises” over a transfer away from Parkhead were “broken”.
