Celtic in bottom pot of seeds for Champions League draw

Celtic will be in Pot 4 when the draw for the Champions League takes place in Monaco on Thursday.

Results in Wednesday night’s final play-off round matches confirmed Brendan Rodgers’ side will take their place in the bottom group of seeds.

It means they are likely to get a tough draw as they return to Europe’s elite club competition for the first time in three years.

Heavyweights Barcelona, Bayern Munich and defending champions Real Madrid are in Pot 1, along with last season’s surprise English champions Leicester City.

Manchester City and Arsenal are in Pot 2, where last year’s finalists Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Europa League winners Sevilla also lurk.

Tottenham are in Pot 3 with Sporting Lisbon, Bruges and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Celtic are the highest ranked team in Pot 4.

The draw is scheduled to start at 5pm UK time.
