Celtic boss: Scott Brown good enough for English top flight

Brendan Rodgers had glowing words for the role of Scott Brown in Celtic's 5-2 win over Hapoel Beer-Sheva and claimed the midfielder is good enough to play in the English Premier League.

The Parkhead side’s captain scored the final goal in the Champions League play-off first leg and generally maintained his impressive form of recent weeks.

“Scott was brilliant,” said Rodgers. “He has become lean over the course of pre-season. He looked powerful. He could still play in the Premier League in England, there is absolutely no question about it.

“But his heart is here and he just wants to play for Celtic. His dominance in the game, you see the importance of him for us.”
