The Glebe Park side started brightly and Andy Jackson went close with a drive that was tipped over by visiting goalkeeper David Mitchell.

Ewan Moyes was then not too far away with header from a Ryan Stewart corner ten minutes before half-time.

Just when it looked like the game would reach the half-time interval goalless, giant French forward Armand One, who had not scored since November 2011 when he was an Alloa player, struck when he turned home Sean Winter’s cross from the left.

But Brechin drew level on 57 minutes with Jackson getting the better of Mitchell this time when he guided a cross from Jonathan Brown past the goalkeeper.

It looked like Ray McKinnon’s side would take all three points when Alan Trouten headed home with seven minutes left.

However Stranraer rallied with Malcolm turning and shooting home a Michael Moore knock down to move his side three points ahead of ninth-placed East Fife, who now look favourites to face a play-off battle for their Second Division survival.
