Bo’ness finally get first win

Hill of Beath Hawthorn 1 - 2 Bo’Ness United

BO’NESS UNITED got their Super League campaign on track courtesy of their first-ever win at Hill of Beath.

Hill of Beath drew first blood in 11 minutes with a goal out of the blue. Bo’ness had looked good at the start, but Hall slammed home a rebound to put the home side ahead.

Bo’ness looked vulnerable, but gradually recovered their composure and got the equaliser in 32 minutes. Hislop held up before laying back to Devine. Walker connected with the cross, firing towards the goal and Hamilton touched in from close in.

Bo’ness pushed forward in the second half and went ahead in 55 minutes. A Walker corner was cleared, but Devine put it back in and it was Walker again who fired the ball across the goal for Hislop to shoot past Hall at his near post.

As it was, three red cards in the final few minutes – Haddow and Dair for Hill of Beath and Shields of Bo’ness – gave a wrong impression of what was a tough, but never dirty game.
