Alex McLeish appears set to return to Rangers as the club's next manager, according to SPFL sponsors Ladbrokes.

The bookmakers have taken down their market on McLeish’s next port of call following a run of bets triggered by the Light Blues’ 2-1 loss to Dundee on Friday night.

Derek McInnes had been favourite following the departure of Pedro Caixinha, but distanced himself from the role late last week.

After a sustained amount of betting activity the league sponsors stopped taking bets on who will be the next Rangers manager.

David Macdonald of Ladbrokes said: ”Money talks and the bets we’ve seen suggest Alex Mcleish is on the verge of returning to Rangers.
