Third Division round-up: McAllister’s brace fires Peterhead to top of the league

Clyde 2 - 1 Annan

Clyde climbed into second place following a 2-1 triumph over Annan. Kevin Watt fired them ahead in the 26th minute, converting Bryan Gilfillan’s knockdown. Annan drew level through Greg Thorburn before Scott Chaplain put in his own net to gift the hosts a winner.

Stirling Albion 1 - 2 Queen’s Park

Queen’s Park came from behind to move into fourth place with this 2-1 win. Joshua Flood had headed Stirling into a tenth-minute lead only for the visitors’ James Brough to equalise from close range. Jamie Longworth completed the turnaround seven minutes from time.

Berwick Rangers 3 - 0 East Stirling

Berwick Rangers coasted to a comfortable win as Dean Hoskins set up Darren Lavery for the 11th-minute opener before Fraser McLaren added a second from a Kevin McDonald pass shortly before the break. Hoskins headed home to ensure the three points with ten minutes left.

Peterhead 2 - 0 Montrose

A RORY McAllister double earned Peterhead a 2-0 win as they went top. The talismanic McAllister opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, curling home after good work from Mark McCallum. Peterhead got their second when McCallum fed McAllister, who lashed the ball home.
