Barry Bannan charged with drink driving

Scotland midfielder Barry Bannan has been charged with motoring offences after a crash in Nottinghamshire last month.

Bannan, who also plays for Aston Villa under Alex McLeish, was charged with with drinking and driving and failing to stop after an accident.

He was dropped for Scotland’s match with Cyrpus last week following the incdient.

The 21-year-old is also accused of driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without due care and attention.

He was bailed to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 25 November.
