The images, published on footyheadlines.com, appear to be snapshots taken as stock of the new kit arrived to go on sale.

Eagle-eyed Rangers fans may recognise the away and third strips, with both drawing heavily on previous change kits.

The red and white chequered third kit is very similar to the Adidas-made, McEwan’s Lager-sponsored away kit of the 1995/96 season, worn by the likes of Gordon Durie, Paul Gascoigne and Oleg Salenko, while the away kit looks to have been modelled on the 1999/00 away kit made by Nike and sponsored by NTL and worn by players including Rod Wallace, Jorg Albertz and Claudio Reyna.

Although the Ibrox club are yet to officially unveil their new strips for next season, a nod to past glories - the Gers were title-winners in 1996 and 2000 - looks to be on the cards with these kits.

The club are sticking with 32Red as the main sponsor while the kits will be manufactured by Puma.

Whether or not the club decides to wear a new kit in the Scottish Cup final showdown with Hibernian remains to be seen.
