The 31-year-old started his career at Newcastle United in 2000, however he is better known for four spells – two on loan and two as a permanent player – with Cardiff City. Chopra has also donned the colours of Sunderland, Ipswich Town and Blackpool and comes to the Wasps after a spell with Indian professional side the Kerala Blasters, and a recent training stint with Port Vale.

The Indodrill Stadium side are hoping that Chopra, who has scored more than 110 career goals, will give them the attacking edge they need to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Chopra, who has had a colourful history off the field, including getting a 10-year ban from the British Horse Racing authority, appeared as a late substitute against Rangers at Ibrox last night.
