Airdrie 0 - 2 Livingston: Another Airdrie home loss

AIRDRIE slumped to their 12th home defeat of the season as Livingston stayed on course to finish third.

Scorers: Livingston - Barr 26, Tena 80

Goals from Craig Barr and Jesus Garcia Tena were enough to settle a match watched by just 650 fans.

The Diamonds briefly belied their lowly position with some neat possession play but they lacked a cutting edge and will finish the season with just one victory in front of their own fans.

Diamonds keeper Kenny Arthur was helpless when Barr rose above the defence to head Jordan Morton’s corner firmly into the net.

Arthur made a double save from Iain Russell before Airdrie should have levelled. Jordan Moore was put clear only to see his close-range effort saved by Darren Jamieson.

Barr blotted his copybook with a late challenge on Arthur that left the keeper needing lengthy treatment for a face injury but, remarkably, the Livi player escaped punishment.

Arthur then turned hero when he saved Russell’s spot-kick – awarded for a Ricki Lamie foul – and Russell was foiled again by Chris O’Neil’s last-ditch tackle but Arthur was eventually beaten for a second time when Garcia Tena curled an unstoppable free-kick into the left corner.
