Dons get green light for Vujadinovic

Udinese defender Nikola Vujadinovic has been given the green-light to join Aberdeen on loan. An SFA panel agreed to recommend Aberdeen's application for a work permit for the 24-year-old after meeting at Hampden yesterday. Vujadinovic is a Serbian-born Montenegrin, who can operate at left-back or centre-half. He began his career at Red Star Belgrade and later won a move to Serie A.

Stokes eager to get on Celtic goal trail

Anthony Stokes is hoping to make his Celtic debut against Hearts in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League this weekend with one instruction from manager Neil Lennon - to score goals. Stokes signed a four-year contract on transfer deadline day from Hibs in a 1.2million deal, said: "He just said to me to do what I did at Hibs, stay in the box and get on the end of things, and it's up to me to put him in a position where I have to play."

Kilmarnock thank Moffat for gesture

Kilmarnock have revealed that former chairman Jamie Moffat has written off 900,000 of the 1.8m debt owed to him. But current chairman Michael Johnston has called for further financial help from the local community and Scottish Government to ensure the club survive in the SPL. He said: "This is yet another example of the remarkable generosity of Jamie Moffat and his parents to Kilmarnock Football Club."

Goodwin bolsters Hamilton squad

Hamilton have completed the signing of former Celtic player Jim Goodwin. The 28-year-old was released by Huddersfield before the transfer window closed. Accies manager Billy Reid said: "I have been tracking Jim for a while and I'm delighted to add him to the squad. He gives us more strength." Goodwin - who can play in defence or midfield - has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at all levels.

Hughes still in talks with Denneboom

Hibs manager John Hughes is still in signing talks with Netherlands cap Romano Denneboom as he bids to replace Anthony Stokes. Lithuanian international striker Valdas Trakys has been handed a trial, but Hughes is still weighing up a move for Denneboom. "It's still ongoing and we were looking to see whether we could do something incentive-based," he said. "The only thing is his fitness. He's a big lump of a boy."
