Flannigan at double for Scots under-15s

The Scottish Schools under-15 girls side continued their preparations for the forthcoming Bob Docherty home international tournament with a convincing 4-0 win over Glasgow Girls' under-17 side.

Scotland started this match at the Toryglen Indoor Arena brightly and St Benedict's HS pupil Katie Flannigan headed Kayleigh McConnell's cross narrowly wide.

The same player was not to be denied, though, and she gave Scotland the lead after a good cross from Lizzie Arnot (Forrester HS).

Flannigan scored her second after 20 minutes with a magnificent strike flighted over the Glasgow goalkeeper's head and into the top corner of the net.

In the second period, Castle Douglas HS's Lois Heuchan netted after receiving a fine cut-back from the impressive Arnot, and St Maurice HS's Georgie Rafferty drilled home a 20-yard free kick low to the goalkeeper's right to round off the scoring.

The girls are set to play Wales next month.
