Flannery set for Bo'ness

BONNYRIGG ROSE'S top goalscorer Paddy Flannery is on the verge of signing for fellow Junior Super League side Bo'ness after agreeing terms with the Newtown Park club.

Flannery is looking forward to the challenge ahead, saying: "Big things are happening at Bo'ness and I'm looking forward to teaming up with manager Alan McGonigal again.

"I worked with him at Dumbarton and I enjoyed it. I also know Derek Fleming from our Cowdenbeath days together so it's something to look ahead to.

"I just need some match fitness now and I'm raring to go. Bo'ness have signed a few good players in the pre-season and are looking to challenge for the title so it could be back-to-back wins for me after winning the Super League with Bonnyrigg."

Another former Bonnyrigg player who has who has put pen to paper on a new deal is goalkeeper Craig Coyle, who has signed for Linlithgow Rose.

He is also looking forward to the season ahead, and said: "It's going to be difficult to get established here but the set up is so professional that I couldn't turn it down.

"They are a massive club and playing on a pitch as good as this every couple of weeks is incentive itself."

Coyle's new club played a friendly last night against a very strong Dundee United side featuring six first-team players with the visitors winning 2-1 in a closely-contested match.
