First Division round-up: Mole's late strike puts Rovers back on top but leaves Adams fuming

Raith Rovers returned to the top of the table by beating visitors Ross County with a goal from on-loan Hearts striker Jamie Mole that was buried deep into injury time.

In a game of few chances, Mole took a pass from Iain Davidson three minutes after the 90-minute mark to shoot low past Michael McGovern and leave Kirkcaldy manager John McGlynn with plenty to be pleased about.

"We deserved the win and to get three points and keep a clean sheet is fantastic. Then we have the nice bonus of going top of the league," he said.

County manager Derek Adams, who saw his side concede a late goal to lose a game in Fife for a second week running appears to be on a collision course with the SFA. Adams is halfway through a touchline ban of six games and he seems certain to be asked to Hampden to explain himself again.

The Dingwall manager said: "I am disappointed at losing a late goal again but it is the way we lost that really annoys me. There is a huge problem in Scottish football that needs to be addressed and everyone knows what it is.

"Steven Craig is through on goal, gets pulled back and we get nothing and then their winning goal may have been offside. I have just watched the video of a couple of incidents and there were two sending-offs missed. In one incident a Raith player kicks out and in another an elbow is used, but of course I can not ask about it as the referee's decision is final."

Dundee's players showed a great togetherness to come back from two goals down to finish 2-2 at Dens Park with Dunfermline. Referee Dougie McDonald gave two penalties against the Dens Park side in the opening 45 minutes. Defender and coach Matt Lockwood was the culprit on both occasions as he was judged to have handled and Willie Gibson netted on 30 and 32 minutes.

Interim manager Barry Smith earned his corn at half-time and Dundee pulled a goal back two minutes into the resumption when Leigh Griffiths shot home. Sean Higgins headed in a leveller with ten minutes to go to see Dundee applauded off the pitch and the East End Park men knocked off the top of the table.

Smith said: "I am delighted with the character we showed as some teams may have chucked it at two goals down. They were amazing when you consider what has happened recently."

Falkirk picked up their first win in four away games and they did it in style by defeating Queen of the South 5-1.

Carl Finnigan opened the scoring after only four minutes with Queens drawing level just three minutes into the second half when Paul Burns shot home a cut back. That spurred Falkirk on and Jason Marr restored the lead with Finnigan, Kenny Deuchar and Kevin Twaddle adding further goals.

Jimmy Nicholl has instilled a great spirit at Cowdenbeath and the Fife side battled for more than 80 minutes with only ten men in their 2-2 draw with Morton, while Stirling Albion's fine form continued as they sent Partick Thistle to the foot of the table following a 4-2 win at Forthbank. On-loan Hearts striker Gordon Smith scored twice for Stirling and helped to hea pressure on Partick manager Ian McCall.
