First Division: It's four out of four for Rovers

Raith Rovers ended a great month for the Kirkcaldy club by defeating Morton 1-0 to sit proudly at the top with a perfect league record of played four and won four.

John McGlynn's side have also knocked SPL Hamilton out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup and the Stark's Park boss must be a certainty to pick up the first Manager of the Month award when the judging panel meets this week.

Gregory Tade was the hero on Saturday, as he shot home the winner with only seven minutes remaining after the Morton defence had failed to clear a cross from substitute Jamie Mole.

McGlynn said: "It has been a terrific run and we won this one despite not being at our best in the second half."

Greenock manager Allan Moore, who included former Dundee full back Eddie Malone as a trialist, said: "The players have been told how disappointed I am and that what I saw was not acceptable."

Dundee manager Gordon Chisholm was able to smile after a poor run for his side ended with a 2-0 win over Falkirk. The Dark Blues bounced back from their midweek defeat at Brechin City in the Co-operative Insurance Cup thanks to two goals just before half-time.

Summer signing Stephen O'Donnell shot Chisholm's men ahead two minutes from the break and fellow recent recruit Nicky Reilly headed in right on the break to make it two.

There was plenty of drama in the second half as home goalkeeper Rab Douglas produced a fine save to deny Carl Finnigan five minutes into the resumption. The same pair were involved shortly afterwards as the former Scotland shot-stopper whipped the legs from the attacker 25 yards from goal and was dismissed.

Falkirk tried to get back into things, however replacement goalkeeper Scott Fox and his nine outfield colleagues stood firm to pick up a second win of the season.

Chisholm said: "We cleared the air with the players last week after Brechin and it helped settle things down. Some of the guys gave the best performance I have seen from them and we deserved the win."

Bairns boss Steven Pressley said: "The substitute keeper was wasting time as soon as he came on and the referee never penalised him or added enough time on at the end. I tried to speak to the match official afterwards but he chased me out of his room."
