Expect Rainfall at Newmarket's July curtain-raiser

Rainfall can spring a surprise in what looks a cracking renewal of the Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.

Her performance in winning the Jersey Stakes against the colts should not be underestimated and although she comes up against the best of her generation here, the lightly-raced Oasis Dream filly is open to plenty of improvement on the back of just three runs. Unraced at two, she looks a typically tough sort from a Mark Johnston yard in unstoppable form at the moment and has the right man on board in Frankie Dettori.

Memory was another filly to make quite an impression at the Royal meeting and she is napped to supplement her Albany Stakes victory in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cherry Hinton Stakes.

Kingsgate Choice is making a rapid ascent through the ranks and can complete his hat-trick in the totesport.com Stakes.

Winner of one of his two juvenile starts, he shrugged off a disappointing three-year-old bow when coasting home in a decent event at Ffos Las in May.

He then showed that to be just the beginning of his talents when defying a 7lb rise to go in again at Windsor last month. Kieren Fallon is in the saddle this time which is added bonus.
