Ex-England cap Alex Codling is new Exiles forwards coach

Codling announced his intention to leave the Essex club earlier on this season, and Scottish made their move after securing the National League 1 title, and promotion to the Championship, with a dramatic win over Barking in injury time of the last match of the Exiles' season.

Codling, who has also been head coach at Ebbw Vale, takes over from Chris Lloyd, who has been working as forwards coach at London Scottish on a part-time basis, combining the role with his position as assistant academy manager at Wasps. He has decided to focus on his role at Wasps full-time. London Scottish head coach Simon Amor said: "We are all absolutely delighted to have secured Alex Codling. He has done fantastic things with Barking over the last two seasons, and anyone could see from the game we played at Goresbrook what a great unit their set of forwards were. A large part of that was down to Alex's coaching, and I think it will be fantastic for London Scottish to have him on board.

Meanwhile, Gloucester players are to be reminded of their responsibilities when they post messages on social networking sites. Head coach Bryan Redpath has confirmed the move as part of each player's end-of-season review.

It comes less than 48 hours after Gloucester's Samoa international centre Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu hit out on Twitter following the 12-10 Aviva Premiership play-off defeat against Saracens.Fuimaono-Sapolu's comments were widely reported by the media. It is possible he could now face disciplinary action from the Rugby Football Union, although no decision has yet been announced.

He tweeted: "I would say the referee was a joke but I'd probably get fined for it so I won't.

"Fair play Sarries. We score 20 more tries than them and the only try in the semi. Horribly boring but very clinical. Fair play. Farrell put more bombs on us than the US did on Osama Bin Laden."
