Ex-champion Fallon retires

FORMER judo world champion Craig Fallon has retired from competition to pursue a coaching career. The Wolverhampton fighter, 29, claimed the 2005 under-60kg world title, but was unable to replicate that success at the Olympics. Fallon, the 2006 European champion, recently returned to competitive judo in the under-66kgs division, but has decided to focus on coaching.

The British Judo Association plan to honour him with a special award when he completes the final section of his coaching qualification next month.
