Warnock furious at Diouf behaviour

QPR manager Neil Warnock called Blackburn's El-Hadji Diouf worse than a "sewer rat" after claiming he abused Scotland internationalist Jamie Mackie while he lay on the pitch with a broken leg. Mackie sustained a double fracture in a 50-50 clash in Rovers' 1-0 FA Cup third round victory at Ewood Park. "I was going to call him a sewer rat but that might be insulting to sewer rats," said a furious Warnock.

STEVENAGE manager Graham Westley called on the help of history's most famous underdog to engineer his League Two side's 3-1 third round win against Newcastle on Saturday. Westley said: "We talked beforehand about David and Goliath. We talked about the fact that David had a plan. David knew what his strengths were. David didn't play Goliath's game. He played his own game."

Lambert laments off-song Canaries

NORWICH manager Paul Lambert felt his players got exactly what they deserved after seeing them dumped out of the FA Cup by npower League One Leyton Orient. Jimmy Smith's 20th minute goal was enough for Orient to overcome a subdued Canaries side.

"We didn't deserve anything out of the game," said Lambert. "We have set ourselves high standards this season and we didn't match them.

Cash rich Crawley eye Derby scalp

Conference club Crawley are favourites to win promotion to the Football League after a fresh injection of cash transformed the club with new players arriving en masse.
