England add Bresnan to Test squad

ENGLAND have included pace bowler Tim Bresnan in a 12-man squad for this week's second Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston.

Bresnan was the only player picked in addition to the side that beat the tourists by 354 runs in four days of the first Test. "The key to consistency is building on that success throughout the rest of the series," national selector Geoff Miller said.

Bresnan also made the first Test squad, but did not play, as a late replacement when Ajmal Shahzad withdrew with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, the England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff's latest comeback from knee surgery has been delayed. The 32-year-old was due to play in a one-day match for Lancashire's 2nd XI against Yorkshire but has been held back on the advice of the county's medical team.

However, Flintoff, who has not played since a major knee operation last August and underwent further surgery in January, could still play in a three-day game against the White Rose second string starting today.
