Edinburgh eye semi-final slot

THE footballers of Edinburgh University head west tomorrow to face arch-rivals Glasgow University with a place in the semi-finals of this season's British Universities Trophy the reward for the victors.

Edinburgh have already beaten Nottingham University away and York St John University at Peffermill and head coach Douglas Samuel is leading his team to Glasgow in confident mood. "This is undoubtedly Edinburgh University's defining game of the season," stressed Samuel. "The boys have done well to get through the first two rounds of this trophy.

Everybody is fit and we are looking forward to the game."
