The 19-year-old from Edinburgh made sure of a Team GB berth in Rio de Janeiro by finishing 14th in preliminaries to reach the semi-finals of the women’s individual three-metre springboard at the World Cup, currently being held in the Brazilian city.

British Swimming announced the Olympics place on its website, and tweeted: “14th place over all for #GraceReid that’s her first world level semi final secured. Total score of 298.05. Great job Grace!”
