Edinburgh Accies 20 - 15 Aberdeen GSFP: Accies secure promotion

Edinburgh Accies secured promotion to the Premiership top flight when they produced a performance brimming with character to see off an Aberdeen outfit whose narrow defeat bonus point means they can still join their opponents in Division One next season.

The hosts broke the deadlock in five minutes with a penalty from Ruaridh Bonner but were pegged back when Rob Aloe landed a similar effort. Greg Campbell was thwarted just short of the line on the 36th minute following a driven lineout and Senzo Ngubane finished the job. Bonner's conversion completed the first half scoring.

The visitors made a blistering start to the second period with quick fire tries by Aloe - which he also converted - and Steve Aitken.

Accies' Bonner then broke from inside his own 22 before exchanging passes with Gavin Douglas and sprinting over to finish.

His conversion eased Accies back into the lead again and he sealed the win for the home side when he thumped over a long-range penalty.
