East Seniors offer up tasty fare in Premier Division

There are three East Seniors Central Taxis Premier Division games taking place tonight and all of them are intriguing contests.

Edinburgh City, who did not have a game at the weekend, are at Meadowbank Stadium where they entertain the students of Stirling University. City were beaten 1-0 by Whitehill Welfare last midweek when they conceded a late needless penalty in a game that, according to both management teams, City should have taken something from.

Euan Black, City's former Stirling University student, is struggling to be fit for the match while the Uni may give a start to former City man, attacking midfielder Daniel Denholm.

Lothian Thistle entertain Preston Athletic with both clubs having won one and lost one of their opening two league fixtures. Thistle beat Kelso United 5-1 in the Alex Jack Cup on Saturday with Craig Hume and Lloyd Dignan both showing up well in front of goals.

Preston were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Gretna 2008 in the Image Printers Cup and their injury list is still not improving. Strikers Stuart Miller and Kevin Haynes are out along with midfielder Greg McColl and defender Matt Costello.

Finally, the students of Heriot-Watt University host a Tynecastle side who defeated them 3-2 only four days ago after extra time in the Alex Jack Cup. It took a superb hat-trick from Wayne McIntosh to earn Tynecastle their passage and he will again be a threat tonight.

All games kick off at 7.30pm.
