East of Scotland: Stirling to face Lothian

The Alex Jack Cup final will be contested by Stirling University and Lothian Thistle after both clubs won their semi-finals.

The students of Stirling beat Tynecastle 3-1 with goals from Darren Dalrymple, Liam Corr and Craig Mason while Wayne McIntosh netted for Tynecastle.

Penalties were required to decide the outcome of the Lothian Thistle against Gretna 2008 match with Lothian eventually triumphing 4-1 after the teams had drawn 3-3 following both normal and extra-time. Craig Stewart (2) and Charles McAleavy netted for Lothian while David Reynard, Daniel Rayson and Tony Nicholson were on the mark for Gretna.

In the Central Taxis Premier Division, Edinburgh University remain unbeaten after drawing 2-2 with Civil Service Strollers. Hamish Munro scored both goals for the students while a Danny Main own goal and a Gary Calvey header counted for the Strollers.

Selkirk were held to a 3-3 draw at home to Heriot-Watt University. Chris Donnely netted a hat-trick for the students while brothers Ryan and Ross McManus were on the mark for Selkirk along with Euan Pritchard.
